Free Scrivener Tutorial: How To Use Binder Colors in Scrivener to Track Your Progress
Free Scrivener Tutorial: How To Use Binder Colors in Scrivener to Track Your Progress
Free Scrivener Tutorial: How To Use Binder Colors in Scrivener to Track Your Progress Today I'm going to show you how to use a combination of custom Labels and Binder Colors to show you how you can track how much progress you've made on completing your novel. This is very useful as it will give you a quick visual representation of your progress so that you know exactly how much work you've been doing, and how much work you still have to go! First we'll need to open our Meta Data Settings by hitting Command+Option+Comma. Click on the Labels panel and then setup your custom labels. Feel free to use the same Labels I use (Outlined, First Draft, Revised Draft, Proofread, Final Draft, Has Issues, and To Be Removed), or come up with label names to better suit your own process. Once you've arranged your custom labels, go ahead and assign each of them their own, unique, color by double clicking the color icon to the left of each of them. You'll soon see why these colors are important--and don't worry, you'll be able to go back and change them whenever you want! Now that we have the custom labels and colors created, there's only one more step we need to take. Click on View, scroll down to Use Label Color In... And then click "Binder". You can also click "Index Cards" to make the coloring appear when you're looking at the cork board view of your novel. That's it! Now when you set the label for each of your documents, the appropriate color will appear in the Binder to the left. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for watching our free Author Strong Tutorials!
