My brother arranged this piece and my family sang it. We hope you enjoy this song! A note on our interpretation: We wanted to branch out into this genre of music, as it has been close to us for a long time. We tried to combine the simple, campfire charm of folk music with our typical cinematic sound. We decided to incorporate a couple extra beautiful Scottish melodies within the piece, (The Bluebells of Scotland, and Bonnie Charlie) as they seem to resonate with the text and the feeling of the piece as a whole. We hope you enjoy this one! Thanks so much for your support! Lyrics: Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing, Onward! the sailors cry; Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye. Loud the winds howl, loud the waves roar, Thunderclaps rend the air; Baffled, our foes stand on the shore, Follow they will not dare. Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing, Onward! the sailors cry; Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye. Many’s the lad, fought on that day Well the claymore did wield; When the night came, silently lay Dead on Cullodens field. Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing, Onward! the sailors cry; Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye. Though the waves leap, soft will ye sleep, Ocean's a royal bed. Rocked in the deep, Flora will keep Watch by your weary head. Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing, Onward! the sailors cry; Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye. Will ye no' come back again? Will ye no' come back again? Better loved ye canna be. Will ye no' come back again?
