A note on our interpretation: We wanted to be as literal to the book as possible with this song. In the book, Sam was searching for Frodo in the tower of Cirith Ungol, but couldn't find him. Overcome with frustration and grief, he sank to the floor right beneath where Frodo lay imprisoned. The song starts with Sam singing an old song of Bilbo's from his childhood. He then feels a strange inner strength fill him and he sings his own original song. Frodo hears him singing below and weakly sings along at one point in the song. Sam hears Frodo singing as he stops, but then hears footsteps approaching... We are unable to get permission to sell this song so we are posting it here free for your enjoyment. If you want a copy of the mp3, we are offering it to those who support us on Patreon! My brother composed and arranged the piece. My family sang it. Please no bad language in the comments. We want this to be family friendly:) Thank you! Lyrics: Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way In western lands beneath the Sun the flowers may rise in Spring, the trees may bud, the waters run, the merry finches sing. Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night and swaying beeches bear the Elven-stars as jewels white amid their branching hair. Though here at journey's end I lie in darkness buried deep, beyond all towers strong and high, beyond all mountains steep, above all shadows rides the Sun and Stars for ever dwell: I will not say the Day is done, nor bid the Stars farewell.
